GUACHARACA
The guacharaca is a percussion instrument, typical of Colombia that has its origins in the departments of Magdalena and Cesar on the Atlantic coast. It consists of a wooden stick with ridges carved into its outer surface and part of its interior hollowed out. It is played with a fork-like object with hard metal tines and a wooden handle.  It is mainly used to play cumbia and vallenato music.
