MARACAS Although they are not typical Colombian instruments, they are an essential part of salsa music in both the Atlantic and Pacific coastal regions. Maracas are percussion instruments made from a dry gourds or tightly stretched leather. Inside, there are dry seeds which produce an unmistakable sound when the instrument is shaken. |
