The crown: The 24kt gold plated sterling silver crown, features a fine emerald at the center of the cross. Its design represents the sea waves and coat of arms of Cartagena de indias. The scepter: The head or top of the scepter is made of gold plated 24kt sterling silver and it is an allegory of the ancient warriors helmet . The rod is of carved wood and has a silver-gilt tip. The scepter is 52 cm (20.5 inches) long. The ring: In the shape of the queen's crown, the 18kt yellow gold ring, weighs 9,2 grams. The band features 4 square cut diamonds and 5 rectangular cut deep red rubies. In the upper part, are mounted 5 round cut diamonds of high purity and two very fine rubies. The scepter-brooch: The 18kt yellow gold brooch in the shape of a scepter, features a diamond and two rubies surrounded by 3 round cut smaller diamonds. The "Concurso Nacional de Belleza", is the Colombian Beauty Pageant. It takes place November in Cartagena de Indias, on November 11, to commemorate the Independence of the city. In this event, the most beautiful Colombian girl is chosen among the candidates from the Colombian departments (provinces). The winner receives the title of MISS COLOMBIA.
